This is Lori's graduation. We are so proud of her! She will be the second to leave the nest. She will be attending Bible college with her sister at Heartland Baptist Bible college in August 2009. At least we will get to spend some quality time with them this summer while on furlough. - Proud Dad

Valedictorian Speech
Like my sister before me, I also am honored to have been chosen the valedictorian of my class. But first off, I would like to thank every one of you for coming to my Graduation tonight. Some of you have come a long way to be here tonight; some of you just came down the block. But I want you all to know that the presence of every one here tonight is very important to me. I would like to give a special thanks to my parents for raising me in a Christian home and for homeschooling me all these years. I have the best family in the world. But most importantly I want to thank my God. He is the reason I am here tonight; He is the reason I have a wonderful life story to tell; and He is my reason to live.
Now I would like to talk a little bit about my exciting life. Some of you already know my story but I know you are just dying to hear it again. I was born in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. And No, I am not a cabeça chata. Because of health reasons my family changed mission fields to Romania when I was about a year old. After not being able to get a permanent visa in Romania after 2 years, we went back to America where my Dad pastored churches. Since God placed me in a Christian Family, I had the opportunity to hear the gospel at an early age. When I was 5 I accepted Christ as my Savior and started my wonderful life with Christ. At the age of 11 God called us back to Brazil, and at 12 I surrendered my life to the Lord. As you can see my life hasn't been all that bad. I've been to 3 countries, at least 25 states, I've visited over 250 churches and have met every kind of person you can imagine. And I'm only 17! I just can't wait to see what God has in store for me ahead.
Ok now I will tell you a little about what I plan to do. I plan on attending the same college as my sister Sarah, Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma. I will major in missions. I don't know exactly what I will do when I graduate from college, but I do know that I am going to do whatever God wants me to do and He knows my future so I am not worried. My goal in life is to do what God wants me to do and not what I want. Of course I have dreams. I enjoy horses, I like to draw, and I love Brazil. But I don't want my dreams to get in the way of God's Will for my life. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart." God knows my interests and He knows what is best for me. And I'm prepared to move on to the next phase of my life.
I know for sure that I will miss Brazil because I already miss it: the food, the Brazilian greetings, my dogs, and of course, you all. I have a lot of memories of you all. I am already excited about visiting here next year. Hope to see you all then. Thank you for your undivided attention.
